Design brief: ‘The challenge was to preserve the globe that is so integral to the brand, yet find a way to make it even more connected to the name Discovery. The stylized earth, contemporary color palette and fresh typography all combine to bring the mark more in line with Discovery as the international communications company it is today.’

The globe and the ‘D’ are used widely as a stand-alone mark. It is also to be noted that the new Animal Planet logo (a part of MTV Networks / Viacom) dropped the globe and the elephant.
